THE DEVON EPIC: DARTMOUTH TO DARTMOUTH Join Dream Odyssey for a relaxed yet rewarding six-night sailing holiday along the stunning south-west coast of England, exploring beautiful harbours, sheltered anchorages and spectacular coastal scenery. No previous sailing experience is required. This adventure is ideal for complete beginners, who can gain their RYA Competent Crew qualification while enjoying a memorable sailing holiday, as well as more experienced sailors looking to refresh their skills, enjoy some great coastal cruising or simply unwind in good company. Join Dream Odyssey in Dartmouth at 4pm on Sunday 27 June 2027, where introductions, preparation and passage planning will begin. We’ll then explore the Devon and Cornwall coastlines, before returning to Dartmouth to disembark at 4pm on Saturday 3 July 2027. Starting and finishing in the same charming riverside town makes travel straightforward. Possible destinations and stops along the way include Brixham, Salcombe, the River Yealm and Fowey, with plenty of opportunities for scenic anchorages and time to explore ashore. The precise route and overnight stops will be determined by the skipper, taking account of the weather, tides and conditions during the holiday. Keep an eye out for dolphins along the way! TRANSPORT Dartmouth is accessible by car or by train and connecting bus. Totnes railway station has good rail connections, with onward bus services to Dartmouth. Starting and finishing in Dartmouth also makes this a convenient option for those travelling by car. WHAT IS INCLUDED Your fee includes use of the yacht, tuition from an RYA Yachtmaster Instructor, marina fees during the passage, fuel and gas, accommodation aboard, use of waterproof jackets and salopettes, lifejackets, and all breakfasts, lunches, snacks, tea and coffee. Four evening meals aboard are also included. On the other two evenings, the crew will eat ashore at their own expense, choosing together where they would like to eat. EARLY BOOKING AND PAYMENT The total cost of this six-night adventure is £1,250. Deposit is £300. A further installment of £300 is due 19 weeks before departure, with the final balance payable 10 weeks before departure. We strongly recommend taking out suitable holiday or travel insurance to protect you if you need to cancel. We look forward to welcoming you aboard Dream Odyssey!
Terms and Conditions
Clients are strongly advised to take out holiday insurance that covers sailing. Sportscoverdirect.com and others offer this at very inexpensive prices (circa £12). Please understand that asking to delay or postpone your course is the same as cancelling your booking. Academy Sailing will contact you for balance payment when this becomes due. Balance payments are required 10 weeks prior to the commencement of the course or holiday. For south-coast holidays and RYA Coastal Skipper courses, an interim balance payment becomes payable 19 weeks before the commencement date. Refunds to the Client of any money paid to Academy Sailing for a Booking are made in accordance with the following periods of notice given by the Client of the Cancellation:- * MORE than 9 weeks – full refund of the Programme fee paid less the non-refundable deposit amount shown against the service and less any card processing fees and bank fees. * 9 weeks or less, but more than 5 weeks – 50% of the Programme fee, less any card processing and bank fees. Where the Client has not made full payment, the balance between the deposit and 50% of the Programme fee must be paid to Academy Sailing before the cancellation becomes valid. * 5 weeks and less – no refund of the Programme fee. Where the Client has not made full payment, the balance between the deposit and the full programme fee remain owed by the Client to Academy Sailing.
