Academy Sailing is committed to ensuring that sailing and boating is an open, accessible and inclusive sport and pastime for all new, existing, past and potential boaters. As a core value, inclusion is championed by the RYA as a National Governing Body. We at Academy Sailing also aim to Impact, Inspire and Influence through our activities, and embrace diversity and challenge any form of discrimination and poor behaviour.

 

Academy Sailing promotes and encourages equal opportunities for all staff and students. As part of our own policy, we fully endorse the RYA’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy.

 

Academy Sailing is positively opposed to any behaviour, whether by staff or students, that discriminates on the basis of any individual or groups protected characteristics. Academy Sailing takes any allegations of such behaviour extremely seriously and will take positive affirmative action to address it. This will include consideration of removing any individual from the course (instructor or student) where the allegation warrants this.

 

The Chief Instructor must be informed immediately of any discriminatory behaviour or allegations of such behaviour. All allegations will be fully investigated.
