SOUTH TO EAST COAST ADVENTURE: LYMINGTON TO BURNHAM-ON-CROUCH Following the success of our previous sailing adventures, we’re delighted to offer another opportunity to join Dream Odyssey for an unforgettable extended coastal passage in 2027. The South to East Coast Adventure is ideal if you are looking to complete your RYA Coastal Skipper qualification, work towards it, or simply build your experience of longer passages while enjoying a genuine sailing adventure and a real sense of achievement. You’ll join Dream Odyssey in Lymington at 4pm on Sunday 1st August 2027, where introductions, preparation and passage planning will begin. From there, we’ll leave the Solent and head eastwards along England’s south coast before crossing the Thames Estuary and completing our passage in Burnham-on-Crouch at 4pm on Saturday7th August 2027. This extended six-night adventure offers varied sailing, spectacular coastal scenery and some rewarding navigational challenges: Depart Lymington and sail through the legendary Solent, passing the Isle of Wight Head eastwards along the south coast, passing Brighton and Newhaven Pass Eastbourne beneath the dramatic headland of Beachy Head Sail beneath the White Cliffs of Dover, with a possible overnight stop in Dover or Ramsgate Navigate around North Foreland and enter the Thames Estuary Cross the Thames Estuary before completing the passage at Burnham-on-Crouch The precise route and overnight stops will be determined by the skipper, taking account of the weather, tides and conditions during the passage. TRANSPORT The marina in Lymington and Burnham Yacht Harbour are both within walking distance of local railway stations, with good onward connections. WHAT IS INCLUDED Your fee includes use of the yacht, an RYA Yachtmaster Instructor, marina fees during the passage, fuel and gas, accommodation aboard, use of waterproof jackets and salopettes, lifejackets, and all breakfasts, lunches, snacks, tea and coffee. Four evening meals aboard are also included. On the other two evenings, the crew will eat ashore at their own expense, choosing together where they would like to eat. EARLY BOOKING AND PAYMENT The total cost of this six-night adventure is £1,250. Deposit is £300. A further installment of £300 is due 19 weeks before departure, with the final balance payable 10 weeks before departure. We look forward to welcoming you aboard Dream Odyssey!
Terms and Conditions
Clients are strongly advised to take out holiday insurance that covers sailing. Sportscoverdirect.com and others offer this at very inexpensive prices (circa £12). Please understand that asking to delay or postpone your course is the same as cancelling your booking. Academy Sailing will contact you for balance payment when this becomes due. Balance payments are required 10 weeks prior to the commencement of the course or holiday. For south-coast holidays and RYA Coastal Skipper courses, an interim balance payment becomes payable 19 weeks before the commencement date. Refunds to the Client of any money paid to Academy Sailing for a Booking are made in accordance with the following periods of notice given by the Client of the Cancellation:- * MORE than 9 weeks – full refund of the Programme fee paid less the non-refundable deposit amount shown against the service and less any card processing fees and bank fees. * 9 weeks or less, but more than 5 weeks – 50% of the Programme fee, less any card processing and bank fees. Where the Client has not made full payment, the balance between the deposit and 50% of the Programme fee must be paid to Academy Sailing before the cancellation becomes valid. * 5 weeks and less – no refund of the Programme fee. Where the Client has not made full payment, the balance between the deposit and the full programme fee remain owed by the Client to Academy Sailing.
