Description

HEAD SOUTH ADVENTURE: BURNHAM-ON-CROUCH TO LYMINGTON The Head South Adventure offers a rare opportunity to complete a genuine extended coastal passage from Burnham-on-Crouch, across the Thames Estuary and along the south coast to Lymington. Rather than returning to a single base each day, you’ll be making a real journey aboard Dream Odyssey, with varied sailing, changing conditions and new destinations along the way. Join the yacht at Burnham Yacht Harbour at 4pm on Saturday 12 June 2027. The adventure begins with introductions, a safety briefing and passage planning, followed by a further six days of course and passage time. You’ll disembark in Lymington at 4pm on Friday 18 June 2027. This is an active sailing adventure, with everyone encouraged to take a full part in sailing the yacht, navigation, passage planning, helming and life aboard. The passage is also suitable for experienced sailors wishing to undertake the RYA Coastal Skipper practical course. The intended route takes us across the Thames Estuary and westwards along the south coast towards the Solent. Possible stopping points include Ramsgate, Dover, Eastbourne and Brighton, although the precise route, overnight stops and passage plan will be determined by the weather and conditions at the time. TRANSPORT Burnham Yacht Harbour and the marina in Lymington are both within walking distance of their local railway stations, with good onward connections. WHAT IS INCLUDED Your fee includes use of the yacht, an experienced RYA Yachtmaster Instructor, marina fees during the passage, fuel and gas, accommodation aboard, use of waterproof jackets and salopettes, lifejackets, and all breakfasts, lunches, snacks, tea and coffee. Four evening meals aboard are also included. On the other two evenings, the crew will eat ashore at their own expense, choosing together where they would like to eat. EARLY BOOKING AND PAYMENT We are scheduling only two of these extended passages during 2027 and have opened places for early booking. We are not collecting the usual deposit at this stage, but you can secure your place now for £25. The £25 forms part of your £300 deposit, leaving £275 to pay in November 2026. A further installment of £300 is due 19 weeks before departure, with the final balance payable 10 weeks before departure.
