South-West Coast Sailing Adventure - 26th July – 1st August 2026 - Devon Special Complete your RYA Competent Crew qualification – or simply enjoy a week of holiday sailing. Step aboard Dream Odyssey for a relaxed yet rewarding sailing holiday along England’s stunning south-west coast. This round-trip begins and ends in the picturesque seaside town of Dartmouth, Devon—making travel simple and stress-free. Who is this holiday for? - Beginners – no prior experience is needed, and you’ll complete your RYA Competent Crew qualification during the week. - Returning sailors – refresh your skills, gain confidence, or just enjoy the camaraderie of a coastal cruise. - Holiday sailors – unwind in good company and take in the best of Devon and Cornwall from the sea. Itinerary Join us at 6pm on Sunday 26th July 2026 in Dartmouth. You’ll disembark at 10am on Saturday 1st August 2026, also in Dartmouth. During the week we’ll explore a variety of beautiful destinations, shaped by tide, wind, and the crew. Likely ports of call include: Brixham – a vibrant fishing harbour Salcombe – with its golden beaches and estuary views River Yealm – peaceful moorings surrounded by woodland Fowey – a classic Cornish sailing port Expect a mix of marina berths, quiet anchorages, and memorable coastal passages. Getting there: Dartmouth is easy to reach by car or train. From Totnes Railway Station, the number 92 bus (approx. £4) takes you directly to Dartmouth town centre, just a 5-minute walk from our berth. What’s included? Fully equipped yacht and qualified instructor All marina fees, fuel, and gas Lifejackets, waterproof jackets, and salopettes Comfortable accommodation onboard Breakfasts, lunches, snacks, tea & coffee Evening meals onboard for 4 nights Two evenings ashore (crew choice, own expense) Booking & Payment: Reserve your place now – £225 deposit. Second £225 payment due 1st January 2026. Balance: payable 9 weeks before departure. Once your booking is received, we’ll send an invoice for the deposit within 24 hours. On payment, your place is confirmed and you’ll receive full joining instructions. We recommend inexpensive sailing holiday insurance (approx. £10) to protect against cancellation. ⚓ A note on travel: Please don’t book train tickets too early—we’ll confirm the final start/finish ports nearer the time in case of weather-related changes. Terms and Conditions
Clients are strongly advised to take out holiday insurance that covers sailing. Sportscoverdirect.com and others offer this at very inexpensive prices (circa £12). Asking to delay or postpone your course is the same as cancelling your booking. Refunds to the Client of any money paid to Academy Sailing for a Booking are made in accordance with the following periods of notice given by the Client of the Cancellation:- * MORE than 8 weeks – full refund of the Programme fee paid LESS the non-refundable deposit amount shown against the service and LESS any card processing fees and bank fees. * 8 weeks or less, but MORE than 4 weeks – 50% of the Programme fee, LESS any card processing and bank fees. Where the Client has not made full payment, the balance between the deposit and 50% of the Programme fee must be paid to Academy Sailing before the cancellation becomes valid. * 4 weeks and less – no refund of the Programme fee. Where the Client has not made full payment, the balance between the deposit and the full programme fee remain owed by the Client to Academy Sailing.
