Description
Following success in 2024 & 2025 we are repeating our sailing holidays in 2026. This leg of the holidays is reserved for people to complete their RYA Coastal Skipper course or those simply looing to build experience and miles. You join Dream Odyssey at Burnham-on-Crouch at 4pm on Sunday 7th June 2026 (where passage planning for your passage across the Thames starts!), and disembark at Lymington in the Solent on the morning of Saturday the 13th of June 2026. You may of course book the subsequent weeks to carry on the adventure if you wish. This leg takes in some great scenery and iconic destinations. For your Coastal Skipper course, take on the challenge of navigating the outer reaches of the River Thames before sighting North Foreland, with an overnight stop at either Ramsgate or Dover. Take in the breathtaking white cliffs of Dover and Beachy Head as you progress onto Eastbourne for a stop. Then onwards to the Solent, passing Brighton and Newhaven. The Solent offers an amazing playground with the incredible backdrop of the Isle of Wight. Transport: The start location of Burnham Yacht Harbour is less than 5 minutes by taxi from Burnham-on-Crouch Railway Station. The end destination of Berthon Marina is less than 5 minutes by taxi to Lymington Town Railway Station. Both stations have excellent route links. Your fee covers the boat, your Yachtmaster Instructor, marina costs along the way, boat fuel, gas, use of jackets, salopettes, lifejackets, accommodation, breakfast, all lunches, snacks, tea/coffee, and evening meals on 4 evenings. The crew eat on shore for two evenings at their own expense - crew chooses which evenings they want to do this and where - lots of nice places to choose from! Reserve a place now - first deposit not collected until September / October 2025 when we ask you to confirm your booking. A further payment of £225 is payable on 1st January 2026, and the remaining balance is payable 9 weeks prior to the holiday start date. We look forward to welcoming you aboard Dream Odyssey. Notes: Your course booking is processed within 24 hours. You will be emailed later this year for the non-refundable deposit. Once you have paid this your booking is confirmed. You will also be sent full course joining instructions. The balance is due 9 weeks before the start of the holiday / course. We advise all customers to take-out inexpensive holiday insurance (cost around £12) to protect against you needing to cancel your sailing holiday / course.
Cancellation Policy
Clients are strongly advised to take out holiday insurance that covers sailing. Sportscoverdirect.com and others offer this at very inexpensive prices (circa £12). Asking to delay or postpone your course is the same as cancelling your booking. Refunds to the Client of any money paid to Academy Sailing for a Booking are made in accordance with the following periods of notice given by the Client of the Cancellation:- * MORE than 8 weeks – full refund of the Programme fee paid LESS the non-refundable deposit amount shown against the service and LESS any card processing fees and bank fees. * 8 weeks or less, but MORE than 4 weeks – 50% of the Programme fee, LESS any card processing and bank fees. Where the Client has not made full payment, the balance between the deposit and 50% of the Programme fee must be paid to Academy Sailing before the cancellation becomes valid. * 4 weeks and less – no refund of the Programme fee. Where the Client has not made full payment, the balance between the deposit and the full programme fee remain owed by the Client to Academy Sailing.
